Who: Koushirou, Tentomon
Where: Koushirou's apartment and surrounding area
When: Late night/early morning of Sunday/Monday
Summary: Self-log, chasing Digimon.
Aha, there; it was later than it had been last time, but a reading blinked to life on his laptop screen. His attention snapped to it as he put down the Rockstar he'd been drinking, clicking on the signal to get a more detailed location. "Tentomon, there's another one."
Tentomon, who had been sleeping at this hour thank-you-very-much, lifted his head drowsily and began to wake up. "You want to go chasing after it, don't you." It wasn't a question, and though the tone was flat there was a distinct edge of humor.
"Of course I do." Koushirou responded as though the question was serious, kicking his slippers off under his desk and pulling on his sneakers. He synced his iphone to the laptop with a click of a button, as they were already wired together, locking in the GPS location of the signal. He'd be taking his laptop with him, of course, but it was far easier to glance at the phone while on the go than to open the computer. He really needed to just modify the program to work on the iphone, but he could do that when he got back.
Tentomon was awake now, watching Koushirou disconnect the devices and shut the laptop, tucking it under his arm and putting his iphone in the pocket of his overshirt, before gesturing for Tentomon to follow him toward the front door.
Stepping outside, he remembered to actually lock the door before beginning off in the direction indicated by his GPS. Despite having no great love for running, the situation called for it, as he didn't want to lose track of the signal before he had a chance to check it out, after all.
Racing down the mostly deserted sidewalk with Tentomon flying alongside him, he was struck with an odd feeling he couldn't place. It took about a minute to realize what it was, and he was both surprised and at the same time not at all shocked. It was the thrill of an adventure, of something new and meaningful.
The events that had happened with the Digital World had been the most important things he'd ever done, and likely would ever do. He'd known and felt that for a long time, and it weighed on his thoughts and feelings for his plans for the future. He was still relatively certain that, despite this new mystery, their adventures with the Digital World were over, but still... What if they weren't?
The idea of a new adventure, a new puzzle, a new purpose... He smiled to himself as he ran, focused forward with determination. He was still worried about what the arrival of these Digimon meant, about the safety of his friends and of the Digital World itself, about the possible danger and risks that could occur, but at the same time there was that long-dormant sense of feeling like he was doing something that mattered.
Turning a corner and recognizing the location as the one indicated on the map, he slowed to a stop and pulled out his phone again. Yes, they were in the right place; hopefully the signal hadn't moved. They'd look around and then check the laptop again if they didn't see anything. Glancing at Tentomon, the Digimon nodded back to indicate he knew the plan already, and the two began slowly forward. Koushirou intended to try and get closer, this time, before whatever Digimon this was ran like the others. Assuming it did so, of course.
Glancing around the corner of a building into an alley, he initially dismissed it and was about to beginning forward again when he caught of flash of something at the other end, moving out of sight almost immediately. He stepped into the alley and made his way down the passage, Tentomon still hovering close by at his shoulder and ready in case of any danger.
Reaching the opposite end, he peeked around the corner, finally spotting what it was that he'd seen earlier and clearly what had been setting off the radar. He recognized the Digimon as Musyamon, frowning as he watched it seemingly amble around aimlessly. An idea struck him and he pulled out his phone again, snapping a picture of the Digimon... Which was accompanied by an annoying shutter noise. Great. Why hadn't he disabled that, again?
As soon as it had heard the noise, the Musyamon suddenly fled, more than fast enough to seemingly disappear instantly. "Should we follow it, Koushirou-han?" Tentomon asked, clearly ready to do so if asked, but Koushirou shook his head. "I believe it's already lost us, Tentomon." He stated, a little frustrated with himself. Frowning, he flipped to the photo album to check the picture, relieved that at least it had turned out. He wasn't entirely sure what he intended to do with it, but perhaps it'd give him some sort of clue to go on.
He balanced his laptop on one arm and opening it, checking the radar again. Nothing, and he frowned a bit more. He'd probably missed his chance for any others tonight, as it was just after four, and it would be sunrise soon. Sighing, he shut the computer again, and turned toward Tentomon. "We should go back home, Tentomon. It's almost morning."
"Let's get something for breakfast before we go back." Tentomon suggested, wanting to cheer up his partner, who seemed to have lost his good mood as soon as he'd attained it. But Koushirou indeed brightened slightly at the suggestion, and more so at Tentomon's next comment of, "There's always tomorrow night, Koushirou-han. You'll figure out what's going on, I know it."
"You're right." Koushirou agreed, with a nod. He'd work with what he had at the moment and keep looking for a reason why these Digimon were appearing, then see if he could find out more tomorrow night. His other projects would just have to wait. He was finally doing something important.
