The plot line is rather so so. A little disappointed by that. Yes, it's about sex and the ramifications of it. And it's about early teens who have sex drives with no clue what it means, and homosexuality and sexual abuse.
So that being said, interesting message in that there wasn't one. There's also not a lot of character devolopment, the characters go through all sorts of things and reveal deeply intimate things but never grow or change. The show also seems a little disjoined. There's all these sub plots going on when I don't even know the characters names.
The lights and set, awesome. Lights fing awesome. Finally a show that uses edgy colors at radical angles.
The sound, so so. I don't know why they corded so many of the mikes, and the mixing was not great. they should have bumped when they drew back on some songs to where the instrumnts overwhelmed the actors. Other songs the actors drowned out the music.
But the music itself is beautiful. The female harmonies are just haunting.
The audience warmed up twards the end of Act 1. But I was really the only one laughing (hysterically) when the boys are assigned 60 lines of Homer as homework and the rather effimenate boy walks out with another boy saying "We could do Achilles and Patrokles."
Mawhahahahahaha
ha
I'll be stealing the soundtrack from Whicker monday morning.
