My 2009 in Review

Jan 12, 2010 18:57

So while other people did worthwhile things in their 2009, I saw a lot of movies. Movies in theatres! I think I saw more movies this year than the past 3 years combined. Maybe 4 years. It was just a "screw it! I'm going to see every movie I want to see instead of waiting around and missing out" kind of year. And so, while you lovely people have posted meaningful things, I will regale you with the movies I saw and about one sentence summing up my thoughts on it! That will be my look back on 2009!

Watchmen - Saw it four times in theatres I loved it so much!

Crank 2 - So over the top that it met itself on the other side and decided to keep going!

Star Trek - I like the reboot, especially the hot new actors!

X-Men Wolverine: Origins - Why Marvel, why? But at least there was a bit of awesome Deadpool.

The Hangover - I don't usually see comedies in theatres, but this was worth it!

Transformers 2 - Very pretty and full of MichaelBaysplosions, but not memorable.

Sword of the Stranger - Yey for anime in select theatres. Boo for sad endings!

Terminator Salvation - Better than I expected, so I'll go for it. :)

Fast & Furious - Dom and Brian are so gay, which is why I love this movie. Wait, there are cars in it too? ^_~

Dragonball Evolution - As a children's movie, it was pretty cool. As a Dragonball movie, it was an ugly mess.

Harry Potter and the Halfblood Prince - Saw it twice, but it's not my favorite Harry Potter film (or book, ftm).

G.I. Joe - A fun action romp left me pleased (which wasn't hard to do since I had no expectations from it).

Ponyo - So cuuuuuute! I died of cuteness overload!!!! And a surprisingly good dub.

9 - It was pretty cool, but they could have done so much more, which left me a little disappointed.

Zombieland - Short but totally worth every minute! Zombie killing action!

Surrogates - I saw it with good company, but that did not make it a good movie.

Evangelion 1.0 - Score for more anime in select theatres! It made me remember why I loved Eva. ^_^

New Moon - Ah, it's like a trainwreck. . . can't. . . stop. . . watching. . . the ANGST!!!!!

Ninja Assassin - This was surprisingly great! Flying blood and ninja action!

Avatar - I was set to not like it, but a good movie is a good movie, and Avatar is a certifiable good movie.

Sherlock Holmes - I have never read the books, which is probably why I loved this! Guy Ritchie ftw!
