NOTHING COMPARES TO TIMMAH'S MAPLE DIP!!! NOTHING!!!!

as for living in the house... well, ymmv, but my experience of living in my grandparents' house was that it all seemed perfectly natural and normal. i knew the house inside and out, i'd spent so much time there growing up, i knew every creak and every flaw and every wonderful spot to catch the sunset. most of their things were gone when i moved in, but i had their living room set and some of their kitchen stuff. i slowly redecorated, repainting, refinishing bathtubs, replacing carpet, etc. it gradually became more my house than theirs, but in pieces and parts and over time. it was an organic process, for sure. so, if that sounds appealing, it can be that way.

warning: i'm about to get very right-brain/freaky/non-logical on you. my grandma's spirit hung around the house for a long time after my grandpa moved out. several of my friends who are on the freaky/non-logical/energy-attuned side of the spiritual spectrum mentioned to me that they had met or encountered her while visiting, and always privately without my mentioning it first. so i don't think it was something they were confirming because i'd suggested it. i don't know how many people ran into her who didn't mention it to me, obviously. he would tell my aunts and uncles about having seen her in dreams or when he was padding around the house at night, but they all thought it was just grief-induced wishing on his part. i'm pretty sure she was really visiting him. anyway, that was ... odd. but i showed her where my grandpa had moved to and her presence gradually faded out after that and then i really had the house to myself. and it worked out really well until i got laid off from my job. :) (end freaky/non-logical interlude)
