Mlc: My co-workers wanted to drag me along to this political movie...something about the revolution in the Philippines in the '80s.
Me: Oh, and because you're Filipino, obviously you would be so interested in that...
Mlc: Exactly. I mean, I'm Filipino, but I'm an American first. Even my parents wouldn't want to watch that, and they're from the Philippines. Who wants to watch some three-hour documentary about how Imelda Marcos got overthrown?
Mlc: Uh, no, wait...
[I start snickering, loudly]
Mlc: No, not Imelda Marcos, her husband, whatever his name was.
Me: Yeah, they overthrew the lady with all the shoes. That's exactly what happened.
