So aparently accidently pressing "ctrl z" will erase everything you've just written. In the the middle of a super long entry and one mistake: it's all gone! AARG! Nothing more frustrating! I'll try one more time.
WARNING disclosure: This will be a long post, the probability of boredom is a risk. Read at your own caution.
It seems lately all i talk about is the weather. It's not VERY unusual being i live where i live. It seems to affect my life way too much. Ironic, it's what almost killed us the other night. Want to hear the story? Here goes.
Saturday early morning, 5:15am
We go to bed about 2:30 am. A storm is just starting, lightning, thunder. Rain;expected, wind;expected (i mean this IS fargo hello!) tornado's i DO NOT expect at this time while i am sleeping. I know that they CAN happen at any time, but usually late night\early evening is very unusual for them because by now the air pressure and temperature have stabalized. Plus it's just plain not fair for one to happen while i'm sleeping away in my bed, unaware that danger is even near. FYI also, we have a full house at this point, Danielle is sleeping on the couch in the living room, Rachel & Jason are in the spare bedroom, Aaron and i upstairs in our room.
Sound asleep.
Suddenly shook awake.
Someone standing in our room.
Rachel.
"I'm sorry. Did you hear the sirens? They went off about 10minutes ago. It's bad outside. I didn't know if i should wake you but i think we should go to the basement."
I say "OMG look outside?! I heard nothing! Get Danielle, we'll be right down."
The front door flies open. TWICE. Jolting Danielle awake. A latch at the top of the door had to be bolted to keep it shut.
5:20AM the five of us a seeking shelter in the basement.
I've never seen it outside like that before, it was beyond windy. Things weren't even blowing around, they were...blown, bent sideways and staying sideways...hardly even moving. Sounds like a freight train.

Sure enough, we're under a tornado WARNING not a WATCH. Doppler radar picked up on one only 2 miles west of our house. Moving NorthEast at 30mpg.
The sirens had gone off.
Only once though because there was not much warning until it was already here. I passed right through town. Only a little north maybe. We were awoke during the middle of it passing thru. Pure insanity. Back in bed 10minutes later, not even windy anymore. Amazingly not much visible damage from that storm. However, the very next night, last night. In the basement again, another tornado watch, severe thunderstorm warning. The storm had recorded over 70mpg winds and large hail. Two trees on our street were uprooted, just few blocks down. Two HUGE old beautiful magnificent trees pulled out of the ground. Make me very sad. It's incredible that neither of them hit anything. They're just laying there, taking up the entire front yards, you can't even see the houses behind them they are so large. Branches, basketball hoops lay everywhere. A grain silo lays in two pieces out in the field. There's so much water around i feel like i live in Minnesota again. You can't even tell there's any fields around, there's no visible land underneath. It looks like lakes everywhere. Thanks to that and the fact that the float for out sump pump getting stuck, our basement and garage flooded a few nights ago. It's never ending i tell you.
Oh! Also on Friday night, a stupid drunk kid who works at the local bar, flipped his truck right in the middle of the street about 3 houses down from us. Aaron and Jason were on their way home about 1am and came across the accident shortly after it had happened. They had not called it in. They were just hoping to get a buddy to help move the truck so they didn't have to involve anyone else. Meaning the authorities, meaning arrest and jail for drunk driving. Our stupid white trash neighbors were there, told the kids to get lost before the police got there so they wouldn't go to jail. Aaron called 911, or as the neighbors said "Called in and ratted the kid out." The fireman got there and noticedd a blood trail, blood inside what was left of the cab. The truck was pretty much flattened on the top. Hard to believe anyone could walk out of it. So, at 1:30am there's fireman in trucks and on foot with flashlights searching for the hurt driver. The 4 of us stood in the street watching them flip the truck over. Pretty crazy site. I'm expecting any day now to have our house egged, or shot or something. Cause you know it's such a horrible thing Aaron did by calling 911. It's amazing how many people are still up at 1:30 in the morning. Slowly more and more people started trickleing out of their homes. Each one with a cigarette in their hand, some with a can of Bud Ice in the other.
I really can't wait for the new system.
