Aw. Poor Doctor. *pets*
“Just need you to be your own self.”
Heh. That's about all it would take.

Heh. It doesn't take a lot for me to go all wibbly for the Doctor. Especially Ten. *G*
Thanks for reading!

No better distraction than Jayne being Jayne. LOL.
Loved this chapter, like every other. You got the Firefly crew perfectly and I adored how everyone immediately dismissed the idea of Mal coming up with a good idea to save them, thus deciding they should spring themselves out. And we finally see River again, who has been a bit absent lately. Interesting to see the Captain trust her enough now to give her a weapon without blinking, when before Miranda and all that happened, there was still that 'no touching guns' mentality. The Serenity crew has come a long way and that's lovely to see.
The Doctor is spot-on. I love every line of his. I can picture the nuances of his speech or expressions with each line of his I read.
“Right-o,” the Doctor said. “Love a brisk walk before a big fight. Helps me practice for the running away bit.” ROFL. That was priceless.
Keep them coming! And soon! I want to know how the Big Damn Rescue goes and how distracting our favorite mercenary will be. :D

LOL. I actually had a moment where I stopped and tried to figure out who's plans are generally worse - Mal's or the Doctor's, and I couldn't. They're both sort of equally inept, in their own endearing ways. Even if they do usually manage to pull things off in the end. *G*

Ooh. Well, obviously, it's all speculation as we don't have any new canon, but I think it would be hard NOT to trust River with some of the heavy-fighting stuff post-Miranda. I think the interesting part is now the moral dilemma - what does it say about Mal that he's asking an 18-year-old girl to go all violent on his behalf?

I agree. After Miranda things inevitably change. Granted, there may be some weariness still, but River did save their butts out there and the ties between everyone seem to have strengthened. If River takes up piloting duties, as seems to be sorta implied, then it requires them all to trust her. And that trust would carry to other things, considering it is hard to ignore she can knock out a whole room of people and slaughter dozens of Reavers with nary a scratch. :p

Though we all know Mal will do what is necessary (he's probably have had to send boys no much older than River to die when he was fighting the war) but that doesn't mean he'll do it without feeling something about it. Bondage references = FTW, squared.
Perfect, wonderful chapter. The mind-readers getting together was also wonderful, you've got the voices down... I'm simply dazzled.
