This is a bit sappy and indulgent, but it wouldn’t leave me alone. Not betaed.

One of her hands curl at the back of his neck.
Curls?
Slowly, they entangle.
They detangle, right? :P
I won’t exactly qualify for the NHS now, will I?
That was amazing. It sounded so like her and it's so cute how you worked in the NHS and it's just so fucking genius. Your whole exploration of her dependence -- that's exactly it, that's exactly why it's so terrible when he leaves companions behind. It's not just like dating someone. He literally whirls them out of their world, and that means he has a responsibility toward them, and that's why this serial monogamy shit is not right for the Doctor.
So -- very well done. He'd never leave Rose in trouble.

I am so glad you think so! :D Is it weird that I'm a bit obsessed with this idea? I really want them to spend Rose's life together. I think - even though it'll suck in the end - it'd be better, overall, then their separation ala Doomsday. It's so hopeful!
Also, THANK you for pointing out those errors. Fixed now. I was just so excited about having something to post!!! *G*

UH HUH. And I don't think he even WANTS that constant rotating door with companions anymore. He's GIDDY at the prospect of Rose staying forever. It'll suck in the end, yeah, but... but... I have to believe that it's worth the pain.
Anyway. You know you totally validate me, right? *GLOMPS*

IT TOTALLY IS.
I refuse to believe that happiness and love ONLY defines the companions. The Doctor is shaped by pain and loss and happiness and love as well.

NO! Dude, who isn't?! I just want those two crazy kids to be happy. And it is hopeful. I mean, lots of people live lives after their spouses die, and the Doctor will just get an extra-long one. But this way his connection to Rose is VALIDATED; they get to be together and learn from each other and make each other happy; and everything can be resolved in a much nicer way.
It's just like any relationship. They want and need to be together for as long as they both can. Simple as that.
I was just so excited about having something to post!!!
I know how THAT goes. Dude, I just posted a whole bunch of drabbles because I haven't been able to do anything else and I'm like "I DON'T WANT TO NEGLECT MY POOR LOVELY FIC JOURNAL." :P
And I live to validate you, darling. *GLOMPS BACK!*

Haha no this is lovely. I love The Doctor's anger and how he doesn't want to deal but he has to with Rose.

Thanks! I love the idea of exploring what it means for Rose to spend her life with the Doctor. Because withering and dying aside, I think it's better than the alternative.

I do too. :(

It makes me wonder how they'll handle Rose's return. Your characterizations I like. Rose has come to terms with the fact that nothing lasts forever, but the Doctor isn't going to let her go either. They'll just happily wander the universe for the next 70 or 80 years. :-D

I would *love* that for them. Yeah, watching Rose die would suck for the Doctor, but I still think that being able to spend her life together would give him a sense of completion and closure.
