Why I'm Not Posting to Livejournal Anymore
Ah, livejournal... (TL:DR at the bottom, although I'd appreciate if you did read)
We've never really been friends, Livejournal and I. Or is it Livejournal and me. Who knows.
Whatever the correct grammar is, Livejournal has always confused me. I always seem to forget to sort out the HTML, to tag things properly, to update my masterlist etc etc.
I'm TERRIBLE at crossposting. Actually terrible. For a while though, I've tolerated and become sort of good at doing the live journal just because it seems like a good thing to do the live journal. I've tried to be friends with live journal even though live journal might not want to be friends with me.
The trouble is, now Livejournal has really gone and put the final nail in the coffin of our shaky relationship.
The change in Livejournal's terms of service makes me really sad. If you haven't heard about it yet, I'd suggest looking up the changes and seeing for yourself because its SAD. I am a person who believes in human rights. I am a person who believes in other people's right to love who they want to love. That includes *** people. (censored because apparently thats what live journal is going to start doing.)
And I'm not really ok with that. I'm not ok with that at all, actually.
I'm well aware that the majority of people don't read my work on livejounral, and that they're quite happy reading my work elsewhere. So I'm now in the position of why would I leave my work on here now this change has happened?
It's for this reason that I'm taking my fics of Livejournal. THEY WILL ALL STILL BE AVAILABLE ELSEWHERE, DON'T WORRY.
I have my asianfanfics account, and I have an AO3 account, and from now on thats where you'll be able to find my fics if you want to read them.
JUST TO BE CLEAR: i have absolutely no ill feeling towards people who want to keep their live journal accounts. this is not what this is about, before someone starts twisting words. In fact, this account will remain here, with my masterlist, and I may use it occasionally for commenting on other fics and for participation in fests where it is necessary.
By no longer allowing my work on live journal, this is my way of saying I'm not ok with censorship of this type, and that I'm not happy with it.
I know it may seem insignificant but this is what I'd like to do.
