Yesterday Sam and I drove to Chapel Hill Farm to see the Mohonk horses. They spend the winter turned out on a 30 acre farm. About a 1/3 of the herd were out in the field grazing but the rest of them were right in front of the barn eating hay. This includes my Domino. We go over to the fence and Commanche comes over shortly followed by Toby. Commance leves and Chester comes to see whats going on. The rest of the herd could careless we were there. I see Domino in the back and I call him. The third time he looks over at me confused. I continue to pet Toby who stayed with us the whole time we were there. Then Dom meanders over and is standing behind Toby and Chester with his head cocked to the side. I said, 'Domino how's my man doing?' He looks at me. I go into the paddock and push Toby over b/c he has a tendancy to kick. I go over to Domino and let him smell me then I hug him around the neck. He put his head down so it was pressing into my back, like he was reciprocating the hug. Then I talked to him and he put his head down so I could pet is and he rubbed his head on my arm. I'm so glad he remembered me. I went to leave and he followed me. He came over to the gate and Sam petted him. I have to take summer classes, i believe, so I can't work there this summer. I'm going to miss it. Maybe I could work weekends there or something.
