A great week!!
Monday was a trip to the Mole Creek animal sanctuary - Kel got to cuddle Maggie the wombat:
On Tuesday we trekked down to Liffey Falls - amazingly beautiful and I have many gorgeous shots - but this one made me laugh so much it has to be the photo for today:
Feeding my Mum's alpaca's was on the agenda Wednesday:
Thursday began with a 1am dash to Hobart after our morning flight from Devonport was cancelled - stressful and tiring - but we made it and saw the rock bathed in the setting sun. And drank wine. Lots of wine:
The big day was Friday, so I'm breaking the rules and having a few photos. Firstly - the rock bathed in the dawn light - just stunning:
My amazing friends bought along a sash, badge, '40' confetti and a table piece (just in case anyone hadn't gotten the hint), and my sister gave me a special '40' glass - such lovely surprises!! So, it was time to crack some tasty champagne:
The sun set on my 40th - and so began a fabulous evening:
The Sounds of Silence dinner was a-mazing. And a perfect way to celebrate. We ended up at our hotel's bar afterwards - so here's the full Uluru posse, along with some new friends we made - spotting Elvis!!
So .. Sunday .. a 4am pickup for a 6K trek sounds like a *great* idea, doesn't it? You know, go out, get a little tiddly on champagne, but have an early night .. there were shades of horribly wrong, but I still damned well did it!! Here's Kerry and I at Priscilla's crack (was used in the movie):
And that was the end of my thirties and the start of a new decade. Rather spanky I think!!
