Shocker!! *(on both parts)
I was so excited when I got home an hour ago, to find a letter from my brother waiting in my mailbox. I wrote him back in June, ... nothing. I wrote him again last week and sent a birthday card ... got a response. He said he wrote me last time, which doesn't surprise me. My mail is still screwy at times, ya know? He just turned 35! Damn he's old. He made sure to let me know that old or not he was still the big brother and could whoop my butt. :o) He wrote that this was his "Sweet 16th" birthday. By that he meant he's had 16 birthdays "away from home", without family. It's just so damn hard to comprehend ... I was only 13 years old, the 8th grade, when he "left." I hope this has to be the last year he celebrates his birthday without family.
I'll sit down this weekend and write him again. That will shock the hell out of him too I'm sure. 3 letters from me in less than 3 months? lol That's almost more than I have written in the 16 years prior.
It's not an easy thing folk. No easy by any stretch of the imagination.
