Story writing
hey, i was home sick today so i was going to work on my homework but then i got a little bored so i wrote a short story so hear it is and please respond and tell me if it is good ( be honest) i might enter the short story contest next year and want to know is that would be a total waste of time. so hear goes.............
Awake and wandering the streets, I think about this past year. My body is still drenched with the sweat from my sleepless night. The cool night air helps me to collect my thoughts about the odd events that have transpired. Being the naïve person that I used to be I began this year not thinking clearly about the relationships that I invovled myself in. I thought about the boy, notice I didn’t say man, that had stolen my heart. He has been virtually perfect for me. His only flaw was that he wasn’t interested in the Georgia Bulldogs, something that in time I learned to get over. Walking by the closed shops with the neon signs turned off and metal cage-like doors shut his innocent kiss and the feel of his arms come rushing back to me. Lost in thought I look up and suddenly realize that I know where I am. How could I have done this to myself, beating myself up on the inside for not noticing that I had walked to his block before now. The second window on the right just pass the first white column is still turned on. Knowing from personal experience that it is the window that looks out on the street from his bedroom. From my darkened spot on the street corner I can see his shadow moving around the room. I snuggle closer into my warm coat to lessen the now shocking difference I feel between the memory of his warm comfortable arms and the night air that surrounds me. This time I can stop myself from going up to his door and then acting like a middle schooler by running and ducking when I hear his footsteps approaching the door. As his light turns off I start to drift back to my own place with my bed and the strong bu not nearly as comfortable arms that await me there.
