I was in work 'til late again. This time, I left at about half nine. This time it wasn't for the love of it all, but more because if I don't fix it, people shout.

On the other hand, I had no end of fun dropping one guy in it - this is mainly because he dropped the problem on my desk and pretty much ran out the door. I don't think I managed to keep the melodrama in check... it's kinda obvious when I say "I'm fixing things up as best I can, but things are still broken. I'd like to know what happened. Did you run X after you did Y?" while CCing the other guy, who happens to be a grumpy fecker (and I mean that in the nicest possible way - I actually quite like him) who'll chew people out (and who I know is not a big fan of the one I'm sending the mail to) that also uses this bit of software I maintain.

To be honest, I didn't go out of my way to try and cause a row, because grumpy has to be in on the loop, and he might have light to shed as well. I'm just highly aware of the potential for friction, but if I'm going to stay til 9:30pm, I'm not going to complain if it happens.

Also, I'm really surprised how quickly, at 9:30pm, my Team lead responded to the mail - he was out of the office on a course, and he replied. Yeesh!
