(no subject)
For many reasons, I'm on a bit of a spiritual kick. I'm not hugely floaty or in my pre-pagansoc days, but at the same time, I'm not anti-religious, and wouldn't be adverse to going to the Unitarian Church (where the Dublin TGDOR vigil was held) some time. I like how they're a place for everyone, so long as you're a good person.
Almost as a response to my thoughts on such things, there was a post on the spud from LGB Christians - a group in Cork for LGB people. Now, for some reason, bells went off in my my head, raising the question if the absent T was by omission or design. So I asked. It turns out the poster believes that, as a trans person, I'm not to be included in God's love. Despite common sense telling me that arguments about religion are generally ill-advised, especially on the internet, I responded, and I hope I conducted myself in a relatively civilised manner, despite one or two underhand remarks near the end (and the start).
Overall, I'm really not impressed when someone tries to say LGB people are God's people, but "There's no room in the gospel of Jesus Christ for transsexuals" - let alone the greater transgender spectrum.
