Another week over.

This is going surprisingly fast. Come monday I'll actually be doing stuff that involves a deadline - 2 days of one in fact. Given that I did that job once before in 2 days, that should be fine... so long as the Screen Toucher doesn't touch my screen. (Long story, I'll explain at a later date) I'd also like it if he didn't grab my mouse either...

On another note, someone I helped study for CS repeats passed! W00t!

So another thing that struck me recently: A while back I was up in the air about staying in academia for the long term or not. Assuming I get the results to do it, I'm just going for the taught course in DCU when I finish.

Basically, last weekend my parents had some of my mum's family over. There they make a small announcement (not really an announcement but kinda made it final) that they're taking early retirement in 8 years, to live half their time abroad, and half at home. That kinda puts a limit on things. It's no longer a case of "Can I get funding to do a research masters that would probably become a doctorate?" but more "Do I really want to spend those extra four years when those 8 put things in perspective?" So given that this year goes on sun, another goes on college, do I want to spend one year (bringing it to 3) or 4 (bringing it to 6) years within that sort of limit?

In that case, it's the forensics if I get the marks for it. There are other elements, but that put it very much in perspective.

sun, work, college
