I feel I have a new burst of motivation for life. My resume is in to IBM, so I hope to hear from them soon. I submitted my application to be an RA, they've already called for an interview Thursday. They said "Business Casual" so I'm having trouble picking an outfit (mostly because the good outfit I have has no matching coat, and it's freaking cold out).
I've started my epic quest of applying to grad school. Tomorrow I'm going to ask for two letters of recommendation. The third will have to wait until next semester. That means I have time to write my statement of purpose. I may do it over break.
I actually have a few goals for break. I have a bunch of books I've been meaning to read, and I want to learn Python (Programming language).
Meanwhile, I've got classes for next semester: Organization of Programming Languages (hard), Computer Architecture (supposedly hard), French II (easy), Life Science II (supposedly easy), and Special Topics. That's right, Jim Canning has decided that pushing students to their limits their first semester of college was a bit tough, so he's gone soft on his classes (we got the harsh treatment) and made this new class which will involve: reading books, writing code, giving presentations, writing papers, and free lunch (woo!). It's going to make my semester more of a hell than it needs to be, but I'm all for it.
Oh, and being an RA may start next semester given how the interview goes. That'd be awesome and suck at the same time. Awesome: cheaper education, fun job, MONEY, and a great experience. Suck: probably not on south campus (harder to get to club), and either a) i get a suite, and have to pick 2 of my 3 roommates to go with me, or b) i get a single, and move out of my suite, and lose my cable internet (no more WoW, which really isn't that big a deal) and well, contact with my friends.
I'd take it if it was offered, and adapt. Gotta keep pushing forward.
Now, what would be awesome is if I had a way to get in contact with Fro. I haven't talked to him in forever, and wanted to know wtf he's doing for the holidays. The folks want him by for X-mas, and I'm sure he, bill, and I should go do our usual CD swap.
Ah well, millions of things to do. I'll update sometime soon.
