I know I haven't updated in a REALLY long time, and I probably should fill you all in on things like me and Tom getting married, and going on a two-month-long road trip, and moving to Louisville, Kentucky.... but I don't feel like doing that now. I feel like rambling ( Read more... )

Yay for posts from Tearsofaclown!! Great to read about how life is going in Kentucky!!

I'd love some really warm mittens/gloves for driving in winter. Red, of course, but black is okay, too. When I was knitting for St. Anne's, we'd make two pair, one on say size 10 and the other size 9, then slip the smaller inside the larger and 'sew ' the bottom seam together, for extra warm mittens! A "lap blanket" for putting on a cold car seat, would also make a great gift! Maybe Dad would like one, too! If you want, I could trace my hand and send it to you so you can estimate size.

I'm so glad you and Tom have made some good friends! BTW, how did your desk decorating go? Hope your concert is good!

re;bed Have you checked for a local Craig's list? The 'Classifieds" in the local paper? Just be careful; N.Y. is having a terrible time with bedbugs, and some places (like Salvation Army) will no longer carry stuffed furniture or mattresses because of it. If you want the inflatable Queen mattress, let us know.

I'm surprised by your low temps! We had a week or so of 50's at night, 60's by day, but this last week we got back up into the 70's.

The buyer for Ma's is still making us a little crazy; we just gave his bank an extension; I think the 'new' closing date is Nov. 9. Dad will be so happy when this is finally a done deal!@! Meanwhile, we are still doing paperwork for our mortgage, so we can pay off the siding quickly and have cash for other long awaited projects, like the kitchen floor. The siding company has their own bank, at something like 11 %!! We can get the mortgage at 4 and a half%!! The outside of the house looks really nice now!!

Have a Happy Halloween, Honey!! Love you lots! Give Tom a big hug from us!!

If you could just use a tape measure and measure the length of your hand from wrist to the tip of your middle finger, and the circumference of your hand, that'll give me all I need to make mittens that fit right.

The desk decorating contest has been judged, but the winners haven't been announced yet. Four people have told me that they're sure I'll win, because I incorporated a bunch of Service Net jokes into my decorations, but I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch. (The top prize is enough ServiceNet bucks to buy 8 hours of paid time off! Do want!) Whether I win or not, I had a great time working on it, and I've really enjoyed people laughing at the jokes and telling me how creative I am. :)

For a bed, we were planning on buying it new for two reasons: We really want a full-size loft bed, which are really hard to find offline, and since we live on the third floor, it'll be way easier to buy something "assembly required" and put it together in the bedroom than to carry a prebuilt bed up our narrow stairs.

Yeah, the days are still in the 60's and 70's, but the nights have been chilly!

Good luck with the buyer, and the other projects! Give Dad my love. Happy Halloween!
