http://www.homeonthestrange.com/ Yesterday's strip (Canon Fire) just rings so true. Joe, I believe you've dealt with people like this before...
In other news, Friday the 13th was bad luck for me for the first time in my life. I couldn't find my bag, I couldn't find my workshirt, it was the first day of my period, I was cramping, my one-use 12-hour heating pad kicked the bucket after 3 hours (probably from standing in the milk cooler), I had a minor confrontation with one of the store owners at work, which led to him being a total dick, me crying, and his brother (and co-owner - the good twin) telling me to take a vacation for a few weeks. At which point I'll be in school, and most likely unable to go back and work at Lambert's until vacation.
The more I think about it, the more I see the good parts of it, but, having never in my life been fired, even this very mild and actually rather pleasant version of it was quite a blow. At this point I'm almost totally okay with it. I intend to either get another job before school starts or decide how to still work at Lambert's during school, but for the moment, I'm considering this a vacation.
Good things are coming up. Katie and I are going to the "Hogwarts Alumni Party" at Pandemonium Books & Games for the Book 7 release. I bought the tickets for me, Tom, and Julie to go see Def Leppard, with Styx and Foreigner opening. Tom and I are probably going to see The Bouncing Souls. (This'll be what, my fourth time? Fifth?) I'll be able to afford King Richard's Faire this year. And, of course, school starts in November. And I'm PSYCHED for it!
