I'm not dead yet. (I feel happy!)
ATTENTION BAND! I have to leave practice a bit early today - a little before six - because I have an interview!
It's been so long since I've been on LJ. Gah, oops. So, what's new? My band is practing again, twice a week (normally) which is super-awesome, and Ky and I talked about me singing more. (So, now, I ought to find/write something for me to sing.) Also, we're no longer practicing in a closet-with-a-piano, nor a walk-in-closet-with-a-piano. We've got an ACTUAL ROOM. And it's got couches, tables, and vending machines. :D That's right; twice a week we hijack a study lounge for our eeeevil purposes!
Anyway.
I've got a number of job leads and don't know how any of the are going to pan out yet. There's one job that's at the libraries in Dedham, and I think I've got a good shot at it because I know a lot of people who work there, including my friend Katie, who said she'd put in a good word for me. It'd be 15 hours a week, but I'm not sure if it would work with band practice, and I have no idea when they intend to make a decision.
The one I'm interviewing for tonight is just about the opposite. It's in Boston, but it's be on a Tuesday night, so I could go there after band practice. But, it's only 2 hours a week, and while $15/hr is good pay, that stll only comes up to $30/week. But, hey, it'd pay for my trips in and out of Boston, and give me a little pocket money, too. And hell, that's better than I've got now; I don't mind breaking even for a while until I find something that'll pay me more than I'm spending.
There's a bookstore in Boston that I'm certain will hire me...once they start hiring. (I mean, come on, I'm perfect for this job.)
And I could try working at the Blue Bunny in Dedham...if I was sure that being around kids that much wasn't gonna bother me.
And Mom's friend said she could probably get me a job at a "breakfast cafe"...which I'm going to try for, even though I swore never to work in food service. (As long as it's not fast food, and I'm not makign the food, I think I can make an exception.
Other than that, I've just been a bit lonely. I don't see my old friends much anymore. I visited the Drama Club last week, which was really lovely. I missed all of them, and their play looks great so far. I can't wait to see it! And, it led to me going to Lauren's house and cleaning up her laundry while she did homework in exchange for a ticket to AnimeBoston. ^^ <3
But, my get-the-hell-off-the-computer timer went off a few minutes ago, so, buh-bye.
