I miss the Lord of the Rings.

The twins and I watched Return of the King today, and I realized just how much I miss that feeling. That all-encompassing, when-does-the-next-one-come-out, omg-let's-watch-the-trailer-eighteen-times-in-a-row excitement. I used to refresh lordoftherings.net until I got the Orlando Bloom intro. I know! And I am excited about it. But PJ isn't directing, from what I've heard--he's producing. And so my excitement is tinged with worry, whereas I trusted him so completely that I had no such LotR worries. Except for the time he stole Glorfindel's horse and gave it to Arwen, but I've forgiven that slight. ;D

Until they name a director, I'm holding out hope that he will do it (I know he's busy with two other movies but still...must have hope!) :)

Those were three fun years, I even remember skipping the last day of classes to see the movies on release day ;)

We saw RotK at midnight when it came out--we all made shirts that said "Captain Faramir's Funky Bunch," and we put braids in our hair. I wore a hobbit cloak.

I would have done just about anything to skip school and go to Trilogy Tuesday that afternoon, but I was giddy enough just doing the midnight showing. :D

There were no midnight showings here that I'm aware of :(

I wore my Nazgul cloak and sword (I still have both) for The Two Towers and Return of the King ;)
