Okay, that was the scariest thing I've seen since X-Files was actually good. Remember the chicken one? Yeah. Not just in theme, but in the fact that I was curled up and twitchy the entire time. Also much like "The Benders" from s1 Supernatural. Which in turn owes a lot to "The Most Dangerous Game."
And it's scariest because they're just people. It's weird when the explained mysteries are scarier than the unexplained.
Also...I feel bad for loving Owen and Gwen. First because the whole manhandling scene in the forest did not bother me like it should have. Possibly this is because I would not mind shagging Owen myself. Secondly...I usually hate infidelity. With some people, it's a fanfic kink or a fantasy or whatever. But I almost always hate it--especially if it's made out to be a good thing. Exhibit A: Meredith Grey and McDreamy and the reason that Sarah does not watch Grey's Anatomy anymore. Well, the real reason is that everyone got annoying, on-screen and off, but also I couldn't stand the way the show exalted them as a couple.
But Owen and Gwen...it's okay. I don't feel like the show is telling me I should like what they're doing or that I should dislike it, and I like that. I used the word "like" four times in that sentence. Anyway, shirtless Owen is nice, Ianto was much less weepy this time, and angry!Jack is a fearsome thing to behold. Yay, show! I need icons.
I'm sad that my mother continues to mock my love for Torchwood. Just because she happened to come in during "Cyberwoman" a few weeks ago, and yeah, I guess it looked sort of silly to someone whose disbelief requires a suspension system stronger than Dolly Parton's bra. I don't expect her to love it, but she could maybe not mock it so much. I have informed her that she is seriously lacking in imagination, but she didn't get it because she hasn't seen Firefly, either. My mom and I are alike in lots of ways, but television is not one of these. We watch Jeopardy together, and that's it. ;)
So, in conclusion, the only thing that would be better than Torchwood is a Torchwood orgy.
After all, it's not like it would be a stretch. Every time Jack looks at someone, it constitutes foreplay.
