So, it's pouring down rain and will continue to do so for the forseeable future, which means no Donkey and thus no productivity for Sarah today. Yesterday it started pouring rain when I was a good three quarters of a mile from home. That was actually very fun, although one should never have to squeeze water out of one's bra. ;) But it's one thing to walk in the rain, then come home and dry off; it's another to walk in the rain and then sit in a very cold coffee shop for three hours and try to get work done.
I discovered a much, much easier way to upload MP3 CDs to iTunes--it wasn't giving me an "import CD" choice, so I'd been putting the files manually on the PC and then importing them to iTunes. However, it appears you can just drag and copy the files, which is nice and convenient. Except.
My C: drive has exactly 19 GB of memory. 19! And yes, 19 is a lovely number, ka like a fucking wheel, say thankya, but 19 GB!?! The one I had last year had 30-plus. My laptop from frigging 1999 has a third of that. And it's a cheap goddamn laptop that's over six years old!
I know it's disgusting, but I have more than 19 GB of music. I could upload only my very favorites, but even then I wouldn't have enough room to install Republic Commando, much less Warcraft. And if I complain, and I get them to bring me another CPU, then I'll have to re-upload all of my music, which isn't so bad for the MP3 CDs, but it's a little more time-consuming for the 66 audio CDs I have as well. And I can't even complain tonight, because Computer Services closed two minutes before I discovered the problem.
And if I call tomorrow and they try to suggest the discount laptop program, I will tell them exactly what they can do with their $1,000-$2,500 "discount" fucking laptops. Just...arg.
