My Latin text actually has u's instead of v's. In capitals, you have V instead of U (APULEIUS --> APVLEIVS), but in lower-case, it's the other way around. But nobody actually does that. Do you know what this does to my vocabulary? I spend five minutes looking up "ciuitate" in three different dictionaries, rapidly approaching a panic, only to ( Read more... )

I agree with a lot of what you said. I think these are some of his best characters in a long, long time, but one of his worst plots ever. I kept expecting something big and mind-boggling to happen, and it just kind of didn't. The end sucked.

Sounds like I'm missing something, eh? :/ I still haven't really begun reading King, because I'm afraid it'll grow too confusing with all the Star Wars too (although I could just buy the Dark Tower, for a start. *shrug*)

It shouldn't be confusing, really, and if it does get confusing, that's how crossovers are born. ;)

If you don't want to commit yourself to a seven-book arc right off, I'd maybe go for 'Salem's Lot for starters. That was the one I started with, and it scared the bejeezus out of me. Of course, so did The Stand, but that's about 1100 pages long. XD

Crossover is a BAD, WRONG and EVIL word. We'll have NOTHING of it, preciouszzz, because it CONTROLS people and MAKE them DO stuff. *desperately tries to deactivate his Grievous muse.*

*cough* Ahem.

I'll take a look in the bookstore next time I'm there (which, by the way, should be soon. Yay!). I know they have the DT, so they possibly have others as well. :)
