Um, Bruce/Ras. OTP. Just look at them. They've got this dark master/padawan apprentice thing going, and isn't that sort of what started the Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan craze? Only there's that twist to this, too, the betrayal and the lying and the probable seduction of Bruce by Ras. You can't have that much hand-to-hand combat and then tell me one thing never led to another. I mean, they literally gave us a body-heat scene that conveniently fades out. Note well that Bruce didn't take the phallic sword from Ras until he said "please." Also: "You were my greatest student. You should be kneeling at my side..." And Bruce went back for him. I know, compassion and all, but he dragged the guy up from a fucking cliff. That is love right there. What, he plays designated driver for Rachel? That's dandy. Rachel and Bruce never wore matching armor and stoic expressions and fought dirty under the influence of hallucinogens. Mmm, fighting dirty...
Where was I? Oh yes. So, OTP. I demand fanfic. Bruce/Ras, or some weird alternate universe where Bruce runs into Obi and Qui and tries to warn Obi-Wan that Qui-Gon is bad news. Obi-Wan will explain that this is patently ridiculous. And then they will all shag. (Not that Obi and Bruce haven't had interesting escapades already--please see Velvet Goldmine for, ah, details.)
In other news, Katie Holmes is pretty good, Christian Bale is just awesome (but every time I hear about him I get "Seize the Day" in my head), Cillian Murphy is so effeminately cool and evil that it weirds me out, and I love the look on Ras' face as the train falls. And OMG SERENITY TRAILER SO PRETTY ON BIG SCREEN MMMM LET'S BE BAD GUYS.
So today was supposed to be like Friday, in that I'm supposed to be off Tuesdays. I name my weekdays based on my next off-day. I spent the entire cramp-ridden day surviving on the notion that my "weekend" started the next morning. And then I found out that my Friday was in actuality a Wednesday, in that I had two more days to work before I get a day off. I work Tuesday and Wednesday, then I get Thursday and Friday off for Serenity. Which rocks, of course, but when exactly am I going to find the time to make my Blue Sun shirt?
Also, just as a heads-up: I feel an honors college rant coming up.
And I'm not kidding about the Batman slash.
