The Birthday of '09

Apr 07, 2009 00:47

Apparently I tend to always make a livejournal when it's around my birthday. I guess that probably means that I reflect back on all the years to see how much I've been developing as a person and probably helps me look back and remember the years.

No Roxie....or a lot of friends actually *sniff*...but it's okay. I had a very laid back birthday. I enjoyed the San Francisco Zoo with Erin and Dustin...even though it was extremely cold. But we had a blast in our own way of craziness...like the hot chocolate (Yum) and Erin chasing a pissed off peacock. *sighs* Damn peacocks...

Then Saturday I went to Santa Cruz all day long with Libby and Dustin and enjoyed some good ol' Clam Chowder in a bread bowl at the Wharf (for whatever reason, I kept calling it chow mein). We got lost on our way to downtown Santa Cruz and took a two mile hike just to make a big loop and end up in the center of all the excitement. Wasn't anything exciting...just a lot of walking and enjoying the beautiful day and all the strange people walking about. It was also weird to be tipsy with them down a busy street...thinking everything's funny in the middle of the day.

Overall...I am just grateful that I have the people I have and the ability to go out and enjoy myself on my birthday without any sort of grand scheme of planning or anything of the such. To just be able to take a three day weekend and just go for whatever opportunity really helped dustin and I escape from the daily hassles we have to endure.

With that said, here's a few updates that's going on in our lives since I don't make any entries...

First, Nathaniel is moving in May 1st and becoming part of the family due to his roommate and apartment issues. This means that five people are living in this house (even though he practically lives here to begin with), which means reduced rent! This leads to #2....

A Patio setup! With the 210 extra dollars dustin and I are saving with Nathaniel...we're going to buy a table and umbrella and search for affordable chairs so that everyone can enjoy the sun comfortably and love the weather over the summer! It will be great to eat..throw a party..enjoy the nice nights...it will just be relaxing all the time....it will pressure Dustin and I to really work on opening up the house more.

Third....We've been tearing up the yards the past couple weeks and it's really been bringing the house up....a lot of our neighbors have complimented on how beautiful it looks and how it's been shaggy for 21 years. They send us about 6 yard bins a week so we can load up on all of the difficult work we've been doing (Thanks dad!). But one of our goals over the summer is to do a makeover and add flowers and other things in the little circle garden and along the house to really make the house nice....yet another small investment.

Fourth...Pokemon invaded my life. That and Warcraft. Lately I've gotten this crazy need to play Pokemon so I've been playing all the games i have...and soon going to purchase Platinum so that I can catch them all! But I hope that goes away..or warcraft. One of the other...who knows? This leads to...

Fifth....For my Birthday, Dustin and I bought this WoW boardgame that looked really fun...and it is. It is a looooooooooooooooooong game though...but it's definitely something that would be nice for Dustin and I to play in the future summer days or anything of the like. He's been bringing up the video game...but since I've been wanting to play the series...I shoot down that idea faster than many players who become so obsessed they end up killing their children. *nods*

And lastly....and probably the most debatable....Amanda has this cat at work...pregnant...and has extra toes on all of it's feet. Apparently it's the most nicest cats in the world and Amanda said that she almost brought it home for us to raise. But...with the pregnancy...it won't be until another couple of months. With that said....I sense that Dustin and I are going to get another member of the family over time...but this is all part of the hypothesis...which I am definitely trying to figure out any form of advanced research method in a psychological and analytical approach (damn psychology papers).

Overall...life is still eventful and there's always something going on. But I gotta say, there haven't been a bad day yet and I am proud to say that. It looks like Dustin and I are living the fast track on this road we called Life...it just never ends.

Now if you'll excuse me...I'm trying to figure out how to work an iPod....apparently I'm technology illiterate nowadays if I don't even know how to work one of the most common technological devices in society today.

Onward.
