I'm proud of my country today. When I wake up tomorrow we will have a blackish president and a blacker first family. This is the first generation of black men who were educated in equal, integrated schools who are old enough to run for office. This was the last generation of men to see their parents abide voter segregation. And in exactly 40 years from the year Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was killed, we elected our first black president. The glass ceiling appears to have no substance now. I have a lot of hope I didn't have for 8 years. The fact that the media keeps comparing Barack Obama to Kennedy and Lincoln is making me nervous.
Finally, something historically significant that is NOT a war is happening in my lifetime. Even if it's a small revolution, I'll take what I can get in this cesspool of complacency.
Adam came over this morning to snuggle which was totally sweet dude. Then Mike, Jerry, Yimmy, and I went to Chandler park and played hide and seek whilst rock climbing. When it got dark we gathered firewood and went to the fire pit where a couple of guys were burning small twigs and got a big fire going. When we left, we took a couple of torches because it was pitch black. We took pictures of each other playing with fire in the woods because we like to live dangerously. And I made steak and a baked potato for dinner when I got home. All in all a pretty good day.
