I am doing worlds better than I was a few weeks ago. Living on my own, I feel like a huge weight has been lifted. I love my house and my roommate. I've been having a lot of fun just getting back into my routine of hanging out with people and going out on the weekends. It feels good to be back.
And going on dates! I already met someone new. I had planned on taking a lot more time to get over the last one, but I am already feeling pretty good about this. I hope I can trust that feeling. I just want to take it a little slower than I usually do getting to know him so I can be sure he's a good one. It's nice having someone around who gets all of my jokes and obscure references. And fries.
I had to treat kitty for fleas for the first time ever. They were all over her yesterday. I don't understand how she got them, she's an indoor cat!
My dad called and ranted to me for an hour today about how Obama is a nigger and a secret muslim and when he says "this country needs change" he means change of a different kind. He created his own website to blog about his views, loaded with videos of conservative pundits bashing the Democratic nominee. I kind of giggled as he ranted on, I mean, how else could I react? It's not like getting upset would do any good. I told him that I could see his side of the argument even though I completely disagree with him, and I guess that's all he wanted to hear really. We started the religious debate a little bit and he took a new approach, he said, "Heather, you're just a closet Christian and you know it, you're too smart to really believe there's not a God, you try to be a good person because you know there really is gonna be someone holding you accountable at the end, I just hope you can admit it before it's too late." All I could do was try to stifle the giggling.
Granddad showed me a month old article in the Tulsa World about Bob Workman's company going under(that is Nick's dad). It was strange to read that since his company had been extremely successful just a few years ago. I wonder what that will mean for Lucas. Megan is lucky her family's business is oil. There will always be high demand. I don't really know anyone else who would suffer greatly from the current crisis. It seems like most of Oklahoma is doing alright so far. It's nice to see gas under $3 a gallon.
