The evil father thing was kind of predictable but really well played.
And very very creepy and backstory!fic inducing. Because Dorian is too pretty not to suffer.
For a horrible second I thought Charlotte was going to comfort him and they were going to have a ‘moment’ but fortunately not.
From a schmoop point of view that would have been cute. From a fangirl perspective that would also have been quite cute. But from a character point of view it was perfect. Although I doubt Dorian would have been very receptive to any comforting, especially considering their current antagonistic relationship.
In my head, at least, Rosalind knows Dorian well enough to have a fairly good idea when she starts the Dorian/Charlotte rumour that it’s true.
I think just about everyone got that Dorian was lying, it was so bloody obvious one would have to be Angus or Raj not to notice it. All Rosalind would have needed was a rudimentary knowledge of her cousin.

This. Charlotte in character wouldn't have gone to comfort him at that point and Dorian in character would have lashed out at someone seeing him so vulnerable in a way that would have derailed the budding romance.
I thought it was very well done, especially when you think that one of them is supposed to be 'good' and the other 'evil'.
One of the things I really love about the show is that the the 'good' characters aren't particularly comfortable because they all have the potential to be really dark.
I don't think he would be passing information, he seems too...loyal to do that. Plus he's got a huge crush on Angela so I doubt he'd screw her over like that I don't think he'd deliberately either. But he doesn't seem to have a particularly strong personality and he and Maltravers seem to go back to Gabriel's student days. After the fiasco with the tribunal I can see him letting Maltravers

He would. That would probably then have the consequence of pissing Charlotte off enough to actually use the fact she found Dorian crying after a visit from some guy. Which would lead to a bitch-fight to end all bitch-fights. And completely derail any relationship.

Those characters who aren't 'good' are already at least morally grey. Like Dorian and Rosalind.
