Why? It was so that if she turned her head to the side, she wouldn't have to face the darkness alone.
(You see she had no sparkle in her eyes)
She hung suns on her ears in the hopes that it would make dissapear the darkness residing in her dreams and filling her mind with fear where there should have been love.
where there could have been faith in a God
that doesn't give up on his men
nor give up his wo[e]men
Yet with desperation
drenched in perspiration
exhausted from retaliation
burning with realization
they did not shine.
They beat into her drums:
"We are not the ones who are supposed to shine. You are."
