Okay its been awhile since I've made a tutorial so I hope you can all follow this.
The coloring on this Icon is good for screencaps or pictures, that have red or yellow tones.
So keeping that in mind, lets begin!

1: The first thing to do is of course open up your picture. I didn't resize my screencap, you can if you wish though. Next I cropped the image down and grabbed my smudge tool, I wanted to make my colors blend better together.

2: Now is when we finally get on to the coloring. First I duplicated my layer and
set it to Screen 100%. Now I want to darken up the icon some and add some contrast. So
make a new black & white gradient layer. Set the layer too Softlight 45%.

3: Now I'm going to add some yellow coloring into our icon. Make and new Curves layer
and use the following settings,

RGB
O = 133
I = 133

BLUE
O = 133
I = 143

4: This layer is going to add some more red coloring into the layer, make a new Selective
Coloring layer and use these settings,

REDS
-20,20,30,20

YELLOWS
-100,50,100,0

MAGENTAS
20,20,100,0

Set the layer too Normal 11% Opacity.

5: Take This Texture by ? . And set it
to Softlight 100% Opacity. I used this texture to add more brightness and light to the icon.

6: Next Take This Texture by ? . And set it
to Softlight 50% Opacity. Using this texture gives the icon more of a blue and red coloring.

7: Now I want to darken the icon up a bit and add more of a darker look to the
icons character, so make a new Selective Coloring layer and use these settings,

REDS
48,30,22,0

CYANS
100,100,0,0

BLUES
100,-46,-100,0

7: Same thing as above, lol, so make a new Selective Coloring layer and use these settings,

REDS
-10,10,30,0

CYANS
-100,100,100,0

BLUES
100,0,0,0

8: And now were really going to brighten our icon up, Making the background really stand out.
So make a new Brightness & Contrast layer and use the settings below,

BRIGHTNESS :
53
CONTRAST :
39

9: Open a new Layer, and grab yourself a brush, the size is up to you. I choose to use a brush that was sized 160px. Now using the color #ffffff make a dot, or click on your icon. You should have a white colored blob on your icon. Change the Layers Opacity too 25%.

10: The red coloring on the icon is still not bright enough so were going to brighten it up a bit. Make a new Selective Coloring layer and use these settings,

REDS
-65,0,0,0

11: And the icon is still not as red as I would like it to be. So Make a new Gradient layer, and use the colors, #d6572a and #f1795d. Set the layer to Softlight 100%.

12: Almost done now, Make another new layer and grab yourself a brush, the size is up to you. I choose to use a brush that was sized 160px. Now using the color #ffffff make a dot, or click on your icon. You should have a white colored blob on your icon. Change the Layers Opacity too 25%.

12: And finally, the last step! Make a new layer and go up to Filter>>Other>>Highpass and use these settings,

RADIUS :
10.0

Set the layer to Softlight 46%. I like to use this filter to add more of a sharpened and contrasted look to my icons. So feel free to skip this step or to adjust the opacity of the effect, because it might not look good on all icons.
