1: Open up the first
Texture by
bambinainnero. And set the layer too Softlight 100%. I used this texture to add more brightness, and more of a yellow coloring to the base. I also erased parts of the texture where I thought the coloring was too bright.
2: Now I want to add a bit more contrast to my base and bump up the green coloring. So open up a new selective coloring layer by going up to, Layer>>New Adjustment Layer>>Selective Coloring. And use these settings,
Greens:
100,100,89,100
Neutrals:
0,0,0,16
Blacks:
0,0,0,47
Set the Selective Coloring Layers Opacity to 25%.
3: Now were going to brighten up the Reds in our base a little bit. So go up to, Layer>>New Adjustment Layer>>Selective Coloring again and use these settings,
Reds:
-60,0,0,0
4: Now were really going to make the Yellow and Red coloring in our base really pop. So go up to, Layer>>New Adjustment Layer>>Coloring Balance.
And use these settings,
Midtones:
23,-13,-29
Shadows:
19,0,0
Highlights:
0,0,-16
5: I know we just brightened up our Reds and Yellows, But I wanted to make them even brighter, and darken the base up. So take
This texture by ?. And set the layer too Softlight 100%.
6: Now were going to brighten the base up a tiny bit. The texture we used before darkened the base a little to much. Open up
This texture by
innocent_Lexys. And set it to Softlight 45%.
7: And again were going to brighten up the base, and add some more contrast, along with bringing out the yellow some more. Take
This Texture by ? . And set it to Overlay 55%.
8: Now comes the borders of the Icon. Take
This Texture by
innocent_Lexys and set it to Linear Burn 100%. Now Grab an eraser, the size doesn’t really matter, just make sure that the eraser is set too 100% Hardness. Erase the texture where it darkens the icon, Leaving only the black borders. Or you can use
This already edited version .
9: And finally for the last step. Open a new Layer, and grab yourself a brush, the size is up to you. I choose to use a brush that was sized 160px. Now using the color #ffffff make a dot, or click on your icon. You should have a white colored blob on your icon. Change the Layers Opacity too 25%. Now sharpen or put any last minute touchs that you want, because your now done!.
