I want to thank all the FBA Rebels. I was talking to Nik last night, and it made me realize how all of you saved me. Even if you never knew it. I built up something when I was at Fontbonne and I have no idea what it was, but it was good. You all might not be there next year, but you gave me priceless things that will last forever.
The hugs (well, none from Sasha), the laughs, the crazy lunches, the pixie sticks, the ransom notes, the Boston trips, the crys, the falling down, the constant touble we got in, the suspensions, the detentions, the Kevin Devine, the senior center afternoons, the random outbursts of song, the lap dances, the fishes, the amazing bonds we had with eachother...
To be perfectly honest, at first, I was afraid to come to a brand new school with no boys or anything. But you guys made it unbelievable. As Cerasuolo said, we "marched to the beat of our own drum". And we did. We came from so many different places, different situations, and we became one. I felt something with you guys that I have never felt with anyone else.
You brought out a new Amanda. A completely different person. Thanks to Bianca, I'll have strong opinions. Thanks to Betty, I'm a vegetarian. Thanks to Nik, I'm more open to talk to people. Thanks to Toan, I'm obsessed with being so clean. Thanks to Sasha, I have a totally new view on music. Thanks to Steph, I want to be smart and get all those cool awards. Thanks to Mai, I am careful about not being clumsy and falling down. There are so many different ways you guys saved me. But you did. Trust me. And I hope you guys always remember freshman year at Fontbonne like I did. Even though not all of us were happy there, we were all happy with eachother. And that's what mattered most.
Well, I have second degree burns on my chest, so I am going to go load up on aloe vera gel, lay down, and take a nap. Because it's summer. And that's how we do.
