It's amazing how one person can change your entire day from not too bad to absolutely wonderful.
I know you're not supposed to fall for someone whom you know can't fall for you, and I don't know that I'm actually falling, but I do love this person in as much of the sense of the word as is possible.
Usually at night I will become sedated and depressive, and it's difficult to rouse myself from such a mood. However, tonight Paul and I attended a Grammy party being thrown by one of the theory instructors (well I got dragged along at first), and I just had so much fun. Getting to hang out with him made my entire night great.
He stopped by my room after we'd headed back because I owed him a massage and we just chatted for about a half hour before he headed up to bed. It's really obvious he cares about me as a friend and he doesn't even know how much I appreciate that. I've been looking for someone to have as a close friend, and he and I share like ALL our secrets with each other.
So, Paul, you are amazing, and you make my life feel blessed and wholesome.
Conservatory formal was Friday evening. Wowee was it fun! I wish I had remembered to bring my camera back to campus with me, but it was left at home, so proper pictures will have to wait.
There were doorprizes being given away, and Mae told me that if she won I could have her prize. Well she did, and as promised she gave me her prize. The prize was "An evening with The Cleveland Orchestra and Bill Tackett." For those of you who don't know (and I'm taking it that's everyone), Bill is a senior music ed major who volunteered a date with him as one of the doorprizes, and by proxy, I was the recipient of that prize. Isn't it crazy? We're going to see The Marriage of Figaro on March 29th, which is a Sunday so work's not an issue.
I couldn't believe I won, I mean for like ten minutes afterwards I couldn't even dance.
However, once the dancing began, it never stopped. I have to give major props to Ron, because he did a bang-up job of music for this formal. The entire event was spectacular.
My recital is in a month and a half and I still don't have all the music because Purcell's a flightly little bugger. However I'm memorizing what I've been given and rolling with the punches because the last lesson went very badly and I'm better than that so i'm working on improvement to the nth degree. School as a whole is going pretty well. I'm getting A's on a consistent basis, which is far better than last semester. Now if I can get everything memorized in time, I'll be golden!!
I must remind myself to stop dwelling on the past, because it only makes me sad and regretful.
