random fanfic recs
here be some pretty random (mostly slashy) fanfic recs (because rl is less fun than doing this) - and i just picked a few, i think i could write down a ton more (but i won't)
first. some fics i really don't know why i didn't notice when they were first posted - cause they're most awesome; and now i wish i hadn't read them yet, so i could read them for he first time once more
beyond the veil by helena
harry potter | remus/sirius. a bring back black story, which i almost always love if they're well written, because they re-write what rowling did wrong - namely bring sirius back, and put him where he belongs - with remus & harry. and this one is really especially well written & clever & just beautiful - when sirius falls hrough the veil, he gets trapped in a world where he neithr can be seen nor heard & there's danger lurking...

torchwood | dark stuff, jack/ianto, warnings: violence & non-con. a bit of a dark story, which is not my kind of thing, normally (that's probably why i didn't read it at first) - but i still absolutely love it. it's sort of a re-write of a part of exit wounds: grey wreaks havoc in the hub - starting with ianto... this is very well written & as i said: violent, but there is also a happy ending - which is good to know if you're like me and can't have angsty hurting (which there is) without a fluffy end.

harry potter | remus/sirius. and so so beautiful. not kidding. when i read oneshots, i often forget about them again, because they're nice, but too short to remain in my sieve-like memory, but not this one... it's really exceptionally well written, almost poetic - it takes place in the first war, just before lily & james potter are killed. remus gets three warnings, signs - and goes to talk to sirius. beyond angsty, and heartbreakingly beautiful *deep sigh*

torchwood | jack/ianto-ish, but not much. a sweet 'a day at torchwood' fic - one i (as i've already mentioned) really should have read when it was first posted - because i'ts sweet, well written and gives me a warm fuzzy feeling - and i have no idea why that is.
just a random tuesday by twisted biscuit
harry potter | gen, minerva mcgonagall. hee - yep a mcgonagall fic, and a good one at that. like the title already says, this is a random tuesday in the life of professor mcgonagall, it's a very long tuesday though and stressy & takes place during harry's fifth year. i've never read one other mcgonagall fic, but i got to love her so much through this - it's so much fun; and there's snape, and bickering, & trouble, sneaking around & getting lost. and hot chocolate, of course.
second. works in progress, ugh. i get hooked on a wip means i hate myself for being weak enough to start one, cause i know i will pull half of my hair out, when i can't finish it in one go *starts to pull hair out just thinking about it* - but they're so good! - and why has that wip over there not been updated for over a year! *cries* can't be abonded?! *wibbles" (argh, wips make me so nervous)

ncis | gen, hurt/comfort & tony. abandoned! *weeps* after being shot in the head, i can't believe it! an awesome fic, written just like it has to be, gripping, plot stuffed, tony centric, and still... i hope this absolutely fabulous author (which has also written for house, sga, heroes, csi, lotr & angel) suddenly finds her/his will to write fanfic once more, i wish... *looks around for a four leaved clover*

torchwood | jack/ianto. i swore to myself i would only start to read this after everything was posted & finished, but i got weak after the fourth chapter, because i knew it would be brilliant (haven't you read shades of ianto?) - i am regretting so much right now, because i'm on the edge of my seat (since finsihing the fifth chaoter, and that's been days), waiting for what will happen in the 6th. - this fic is very much ianto-centric & awsome. ianto has visions, or halluciantions, is sick. or maybe he's just crazy, i'm not sure yet.

torchwood | jack/ianto but not much, yet. - okay, this? this is another perfect example why i mustn't read wips. it's too good, i can't just read one chapter, it's making me crazy. and other than that - it's bloody brilliant, and ianto has something in his eye, *lol* - and though jack is not around, john hart is. an absolute must read (but maybe you should wait until it's all done) - so beautifully written, an awesome plot, characterisations, and so intense, ugh.
stealing harry: lacoon's children III: the fugitive from azkaban by

harry potter | remus/sirius. and if you don't know that one, then i pity you ;) at least there are already a few (very long and awesome) stories that are finsihed in this verse, but now he's just stuck somewhere in the third freaking perfect au year, and it doesn't look like it will be continued very soon *lies down and dies* at least he's writing for torchwood now *revives* it's a relief
and now i will stop. because even thinking about wips is making me nervous, *g* - and i'm not kidding.
and another random thing - i just watched miss potter again. aww, what a cute little movie. & there are no vids for it, *sighs* if i could vid again, i would so do a vid for this. but i can't. somehow.
