Don't you just hate it when an semi-underground band you like gets some serious radio play and now it's the new fad. Maybe it's because the fact that the band was generally unknown was a way to define yourself as someone with good taste? well what ever reason F U C K

Matchbook Romance was sorta like that for a long time..but its good for the band.

Isn't it nice enough to know that a band you appreciate is finally being recognised for their talents? If a band stays unknown forever its impossible for them to make any money, thus impossible for them to release more albums.

If the music is really good then saying you like it even though it's popular shouldn't reflect negatively on your taste. Liking music that nobody else has heard shouldn't be an indication of good taste either. It's cool getting to introduce people to a band they haven't heard, but if the band really is good then it likely won't remain obscure forever. As stupid as a lot of people are, there enough people with good enough taste to appreciate good music.

because bandwangoners don't like them for their music all they want is hits.
Yeah it's annoying when someone bashes for liking a band for a long time and you name 30 some odd songs accross multiple records and they accuse you of being shallow......:P

but isn't the fad stage so tragic? I heard some people were going through a perfect circle stage and I felt sorry for the band because they really don't appreciate the band for what they did, they like them for one new song. I am a stuanch supporter in buy a whole bands collection so if I like some new stuff I've hread ( like Muse or mogwai, check em out there soo freaking good) I will go back and get all their old cds to hear them too.
