Dogs are my favorite animals. They always have been ever since I can remember. I used to buy these books about dogs and I swear I knew at least 300 breeds or so. My favorite book was the Encyclopedia of Dogs that I had gotten one year for my birthday. It was this huge white book with a lot of pictures in it. It told about the history of dogs and their ancestors and all of that in the beginning, but my favorite part of it was towards the end where they showed ALL the dog breeds and their pictures. The pages were so glossy and I read that thing a thousand times over. My friends and family used to call me the dog expert. I was such a fanatic, and all I would draw were pictures of dogs. I don't know how much I have improved over the years with my dog drawing abilities, but I am very tempted to try it again.
Anyway, up above is my dog Rusty. We got him for free because he was a rescue dog who needed a home. Let's see..they found him abandoned outside of a ranch in the rain. The rescuers called him "Guapo" for handsome, but I didn't like that name for a dog so I named him Rusty Bones because his fur reminds me of the color of rust. I don't know if that's any better, but it sure beats Guapo. Some people still call him that, but I guess I don't mind it too much. When I was little, I always used to rescue dogs and puppies. I would bring them home and feed them and find homes for them! My mom would tell me, "You are not keeping it!" and I would insist, "But it's not for me! It's just until we can find it another home!" and then she would say, "okay fine, if it's still here in the morning, then it can stay." I would realize it was barely noon! The dog would be gone by then! So, I would sit out there with the dog and talk to it, telling it not to leave and I would go out there VERY frequently to check on it and feed it scraps so it would stay until the morning!
