Hey ladies. Need shoe help. I bought a dress that is the same style as the one on the left under the cut (cut because the image is so big) except with a navy, black and off-white pattern for a wedding I have in a couple of weeks. It's a Sunday day wedding at a NYC temple, so not extremely fancy. I have pointy-toed slingbacks that could work, but I' ( Read more... )

I personally wouldn't wear open-toe shoes in November, not unless it was unseasonably warm (then again, your feet might not get as cold as mine do as easily). I think the slingbacks sound fine - why do you feel that they're dressing it down?

I thought the ones I have may look too businesslike? I'm not sure. I might just have to wear them, unless there's anything slightly fancier at Giordano's. But, I kinda splurged on the dress (from that designer with all the awesome silk dresses at Emerge aka Edge) so it might be a good idea to curb the spending for now...

I thought those dresses looked familiar!

Well, you mentioned that its a Sunday wedding - is it a day wedding, or an evening wedding? Try the shoes on with the dress. If they look weird with the dress, and you really don't like the way that the nine west sandals look, you might want to contemplate a visit to Giordano's. Look at it this way - this may be the FIRST time you're wearing these shoes, but I doubt they'll be the last.

(I'm trying to remember - didn't you have something cute and closed-toe you wore with the blue polka-dot dress a couple of new years's ago? Or is my memory spotty from the drunkedness of the Overtime New Year's?)

I actually wore knee-length boots with that dress on New Year's. :P So, not exactly for the wedding!

I do have this other pair of slingbacks that look better. Only problem is for some stupid reason I thought I needed a size 4, and my feet kill me after only 10 minutes of wearing them... Good point about getting new ones, it's not like I'll only wear them once (which I also keep saying about the dress...)
