So, we watched Bones last night -- not the usual night but there it was so why not -- and were discussing whether or not to timeshift H50 and watch Castle when a commercial for H50 came on.
A woman died in both Bones and Castle but both shows are usually pretty equal on the gender of the body count -- although Bones does slightly better with this than Castle AND always has enough strong, smart women that they can have a conversation. According to the commercial, a woman died on H50 too.
But on both Bones and Castle, the body was just that. We weren't treated to the woman tied down and begging for her life while a man prepared to kill her. Now, given that it was the H5O Halloween episode, it was entirely possible that's not what was actually happening or the point of the episode was that they had to save her before she was killed, but you couldn't tell that from the clip. They were selling the episode with a woman begging a man for her life. They were selling the episode with murder porn.
And that's why I didn't watch H5O last night.
ETA: I wouldn't have watched had it been a man begging either. In this particular case it was the begging not the gender.
