Casting Team Templar (again!)
So I keep visiting this page hoping some kind soul will have posted some art or fic or discussion or anything. Since I figure others of you out there are having this same sort of Templar-withdrawal, I am going to be that kind soul. Unfortunately, I can't write and haven't found time for art, so I am ressurecting several previous discussions about whom we would choose as actors for the characters of SotT were it ever (improbably) made into a movie.
If you had to decide, right now, who would play what roles, what do you think? Here are a couple of mine:
Sandy - Rhona Mitra all the way. She's around the right age, and this photo (if she were blonde) kind of just looks like Sandy to me. Well, and with different makeup, of course.
Simon - I kind of like Matt Dallas as Simon. My main selling point (apart from how lovely he is) was that he is so young. I think that a lot of the most talented people in Hollywood are too old for the roles in SotT. My only doubt about Matt Dallas is that he might not be large enough. I mean, Simon is a big guy. Hmmm...
Langridge - In this imaginary movie franchise, we have enough money from the success of the books to hire whomever we want, and I want Meryl Streep.
Johnny - Our favorite Texan is a tough one, because it's hard to find unacttractive actors. And most of the unattractive ones are just so ugly they are painful to look at. If Willem Dafoe were 20 years younger, he would be pretty good. Not frightening, just...odd. Alas, he is too old. Sigh.
Apart from those, I sort of draw a blank. I guess I wouldn't be very good at casting IRL.
