Message Board Sales Pitch

In order to properly explain my crazy ideas for the “Hunter’s Lounge”, I actually went and created a message board. Nothing there is set in stone nor is the actual idea of having a message board finalized.

A bit of a recap:

Awhile ago, cherry916 made a post about bringing more hurt!Jared to the community. My suggestion was a comment fic meme, which ( Read more... )

It's sounds really well thought out hun. You've put in a lot of thought and I think there is enormous potential for a great site.

How connected the the 2 places are will depend on how it all develops I suppose. I would see that the LJ comm would help the message board initially, but when it's up and running and has a heap of members it might not be as connected in the future.

The exciting thing for me is that (hopefully) we can get members for the message board that are not members on LJ - so alot of the ff.net writers for example. Many don't like the LJ format so shy away. Whereas many peeps are familiar with messages boards.

we can pimp it all over the place - tumblr, twitter, LJ, etc.

Harrigan's question is interesting - whether we still run stuff like Ask the Author on littlebro or just leave it all to the message board. I don't have an answer for that one yet. I think maybe once you get the board set up and see how it's working we may have a better idea about that.

I think we could include a permanent sidebar link at littlebro to the forum and I think we could pimp new threads there too.

I am more than happy to be a sounding board for ideas. You seem to have the setting up under control. Maybe you have some friends that could work beside you that are not connect with littlebro is you are looking for any extra help in the actual set up.

I think it's very exciting. Personally I love to see it focused on hurt!Sam & Jared - a place where like writers and readers can gather, but it doesn't mean that discussions are exclusive to just those themes. But equally - there might be a need out there for an general writers/readers/artist lounge.
