I finally saw "Walk the Line" tonight on hotel pay-per-view. I'm always behind in my movies these days. Too much work, not enough play...
Anyway, that fuckin' movie rules hardcore. The most I've been moved my a movie since, well, in a while (I won't name the last movie that really affected me here). I got my first Johnny Cash greatest hits album my freshmen year in college (I was livin' in University Commons with a bunch of guys from Andalusia, AL). I can remember listening to it over and over. I knew that he had a really cool story to his life, but I didn't know the whole thing 'til I saw the movie. Awesome. Wow.
Recently downloaded the Battlestar Galactica miniseries on my iPod. Watched the whole thing on my way out to Salt Lake City and back - that was enough for me to go ahead and buy the first season. Since I've watched the whole first season of "Weeds", it was time for something new. It really helps to pass the time on the plane every week (after I use up the 1 hour my laptop battery affords me for work - it's a 3 hour flight from Boston to Atlanta).
My face is finally starting to heal up from the snowboarding trip. I'll let you imagination run wild, but I will promise that the truth is pretty anti-climactic. Park City was fun - the mountain was overpriced, the lifties were snotty, the fresh powder on Saturday morning was schweet, and the company was good. Rum Bunnies for breakfast is good, but it isn't the Prospector (by which all other ski/snowboarding breakfast joints will be measured).
Auburn's only scholarship fullback tore his ACL in the first spring scrimmage. Not good. Looks like AU will really feel the absence of Jake Slaughter, who arguable had the coolest name for a fullback ever. He was perhaps the most important blocker in Auburn's offense the last couple of years.
I should be working right now, but I'm not. Whatchagonnado?
