I watched the replay of the game tonight, and I have to say that Alabama's defensive line and linebackers played pretty well. They weregetting pressure on Brandon Cox, but he just kept executing and Auburn's receivers kept getting open and making plays. Al Borges had a game plan that turned Alabama's defensive strength's into weaknesses. I wonder what the score could have been if Auburn had not played clock management the entire second half. Even so, Kenny Irons still ground out 100 yards even though everybody in the house knew Auburn would pretty much run the ball the entire second half. I can't explain the Auburn defensive line's dominance of Alabama's except to say that it was complete and total. It was fitting that on the day they named Pat Dye field, Auburn's defense would emerge as better than an Alabama defense ranked tops in the nation.
I still remember the 2001 Iron Bowl when Alabama upset Auburn 31-7 in Jordan Hare. That hurt really bad, and I remember it vividly. The last four years have been a great run for Auburn. I think that what has happened to Alabama this year in terms of how high they climbed in the national picture and what's happened to them the last two games as they've played the 2 best teams in the SEC underscores just how talented last year's 13-0 Auburn team was and how much it means to go undefeated in this conference. And Ithink that maybe a whole lot more people can see that this group of Tigers who come back next year largely in tact have the capability tobe even better. I look forward to seeing the rankings tomorrow. How about GA Tech over Miami? Auburn had better CLIMB in the polls. I am thinking about traveling to the Auburn bowl game again this year. Come on Arkansas, please pull some shit out of your assagainst LSU. Whoooo Pig, Soooiiiiiiiiieeeeeeee, Razorbacks!
Now, back to the real non-Iron Bowl world. I am off for all of next week in order to complete the last couple painting projects aroundmy house. I am covered in primer right now. The weather has not cooperated with my FAA Check Ride for the second time. Now it's the holiday week and I may have to wait until the following week. Damnit. I want my license.
