NaNoWriMo's in Three Weeks?!?!
So, I've been thinking of NaNoWriMo. Specifically: What the fuck am I going to do this year.
For the past two years I've taken on the NaNo Monster and... completed the contest. Not the novels. I've looked over both manuscripts and not only am I no where near completing either of them, but they're absolute trash.
Okay, that's a little mean. There were good portions and stretches of each (more in the second one than in the first) but over all? I would never have gotten far if I was reading it. Which is typical -- it WAS a first draft afterall. It was never meant to be perfect.
But I'm a little off track. I never completed a novel written for a National Novel Writing Month.
I want to be able to write something and finish it. By which, I mean finish the story. I keep writing these damn "epics" with long intricate story that can never be finished in a reasonable time.
This will change. (and these next paragraphs totally relate, i swear)
I've recently been checking out the FF.net and AO3 Persona sections. I'm almost finished with playing Persona 2 and starting up on Persona 4, so I was interested to see what the fanbase was for each of them.
FIRST. FF.net does SHIT for organizing Persona fanfiction of any number. Half the fics are under "Shin Megami Tensei" and the other half are under "Persona Series." In there, there is no way to filter the numbers, to view Persona 2 fanfiction of any character/pairing/what have you. It's kind of disgusting how hard it is to try and find the fics I want there.
AO3 is sooooooooooooooooooooooo much more well organized and I love them for forever and ever for it.
SECOND. THERE ARE NO PERSONA 2 FANFICTION. NONE. AO3 has the largest collection of P2 fanfics--- 4.
This upsets me.
SO. What does this have to do with NaNo? A lot.
I'm going to write 50,000 words of Persona 2 fanfiction.
Not all one story, didn't I just say I keep writing epics that spiral out of control? I'm going to write multiple smaller (much smaller) fanfics that will all total to be 50,000 words. Hopefully something's worth posting.
That is my goal. Wish me luck~~
