*Ophelia had taken to hunting. What she was hunting, few people would know, but she was hunting. With mud covering her clothes and skin, pieces of twig and grass in her hair and stains on her knees, it was evident that the girl had been in the wilderness for some time ( Read more... )

You lost something?

{Alison had been watching the redhaired girl as she moved around, muttering something under her breath and clearly in search of something.

Although her appearance left something to be desired, Alison figured it could just be that she'd lost something very important.}

She has, she has.

*Ophelia called back, sighing heavily and gracelessly falling from the tree with a 'oomph' before climbing to her feet and plodding over to the blond.*

Are you hiding him? That's not nice. Can't steal him, she says, you'd have to pay his price!

*Ophelia glared slightly, before sensing the waves of confusion from the girl, her emotions exceptionally easy to read. This one didn't have him, wasn't hiding him. Ophelia warmed instantly, the bubbly happy sense of the girl making her smile.*

Oh, so joyous, so joyous. How nice of you to join us.

{The way she spoke was a little strange, in fact, everything about her was a little strange. But Alison had seen stranger in New York, and boy was that fun.

Smiling back at the girl, she just nodded.}

Well, when the offer came, couldn't find a decent reason to say no.

{Of course she could. She didn't want to go to Africa, she didn't want to admit she was a mutant. But she wanted to sing more than anything. Stepping stones, she told herself.}

I'm Alison, call me Dazzler if you want.

{She held out a hand to the girl, expecting a shake.]

Ophelia, she says, it is her name. Reading you, and your feelings, that is her game.

*Ophelia took Alison's hand and did shake it, three times before twirling under it and then bowing. It was easy to let go of the thoughts of finding her lost item for now, Dazzler's nature and feelings soothing out the apprehension for now.*

Can't be here for malice and pain, must be for your own gain. What's the price they pay to see, just what your dreams may be?

{Reading her? Okay, that must mean something, but Alison wasn't really sure what. Hell, the girl didn't seem all there, so it would be a while before Alison really figured things out she would bet.}

Yeah, you could say that. Got the offer, I figured it would work two ways. They get my powers, and I get what I want afterwards.

{So long as afterwards came, Alison would be happy. This was her break.}

You've got a knack for rhyming. Are you a poet or something?

Poet, poet, write me a rhyme. Show it, show it, don't have the time.

*Her rhymes weren't any kind of conscious thought, simply a result of her shattered mind and too many emotions. Her words never really made too much sense, unless during a particular mental break.*

And you, she asks, what do you do? Such energy and cheer, it does so shine through.

{That Ophelia noticed the energy in her surprised Alison, but she just nodded to the girl.}

Yeah, energy. I change energy into light, and then use it as I want. Sparkles, calming, offence and defence. That's why they call me Dazzler.

{Ophelia was confusing, to say the least, but she seemed friendly enough, if a little disturbed. But sweet none the less.}

So what do you do around here? Other than find things.

*Ophelia shrugged lightly.*

This and that, that and this. Ophelia is kept to lower the hiss. Fights don't cut it, can't do that. Ophelia wants to punish the cat. Can't catch, can't find, all the rules they twist and wind.

*She rubbed a smear of dirt on her face, shaking her head and doing nothing more than just messing her face a little more.*

Out damn spot, out.
