A watched pot never boils but Jesse couldn't help himself. He wanted it to be official. He wanted his powers. It was killing him. What would it be? Maybe he would be able to fly. Maybe he'd be able to teleport or shape shift. Maybe he would be a firestarter or super strong. He felt like he was 11 again dreaming up the different possibilities.

That was...odd. But Jesse seemed to be literally over the moon, he was practically overloading on happy. "Wow, you're about to burst." She wasn't sure if it was possible to get a 'happy' headache, but if Jesse kept it up, she might find out.
"You should've gone for something healthier, those'll give you a heart attack." She wasn't aware that Jesse had been a mutant, or had the potential to be a mutant or that he'd be so freaking happy at being a mutant, but then, it was practically thumping through her skull with technicolour fireworks.
"You've got a whole lot of joy all up in here."

"Congratulations?" She figured that if he'd been waiting for it, and it had finally come then maybe it was in need of that. "You can," she looked at her veg and then the burritos, "change dinner?" She didn't know what his power was, at all.
He was a nice kid, rather enthusiastic, didn't really hold back. She liked that -the only thing she never liked was repressed freaks with no sense to let go of emotions. Jesse wasn't repressed, so that was okay by her. "Guess you can stop waiting now."
