A methodical hand took the small white pills and dropped them into the toilet. With a loud Flush!, he watched them vanish, then sat there on the cold tile floor, head sunken down between his hands. He was in a nice small enclosed area, just the kind of environment he needed to think. The trouble was Martini didn't want to think, not anymore. Turning things over and over in his head had only made everything worse. His stupid messed-up mind was what had gotten him into trouble in the first place. If he'd just taken the time to slow down and explain everything to Ric from the moment he had walked in on that kiss, he wouldn't be feeling this way.
But no, he'd let things explode between Rictor and Rogue, then had done what he did best and retreated into his own head, ignoring everyone and everything around him. But this time it hadn't been a place of refuge. All it had done was allow him to see the bad things over and over again until he would have clawed his own eyes out if it would have made it stop. Avoiding his boyfriend had only given him more and more time to build it up in his head and let it overwhelm him. "Gonna make it stop, oh yes, with no pills, They'll show me something nice, won't They, oh yes they will...." Mark talked to himself, trying to sound convincing . But it didn't work.
Suddenly, the stall seemed far too small, the overhead lights too bright, and the smell of toilet cleaner far too strong. Kicking out, the door buckled and bent under the onslaught of fists and feet smacking against it. Mingled in with the clashing sounds were cries of pure frustration.
