When angry, count to four. When very angry, swear - OTA

The repetitive thud thud thud of fists connecting with the punching bag are a big giveaway of where Ric is currently seeking solitude. He's got one earphone in his ear, music screeching out loud and angry from where the other dangling down, bouncing against his chest as he takes out his anger on the inanimate object.

There's no way to easily ( Read more... )

So Ric elaborates about the group trip to Spokane, enjoying themselves and just relaxing. Then he explains about the jerks at the mini golf, the ones who had started on Phe and Martini before it got out of hand and then the accident, the skin to skin contact where Ric finally got to experience Rogue's power first hand, literally.

Then of course came the stay in the Medical Center, he doesn't remember much of the its inbetween getting zapped and waking up but he knows that he got transfered back to camp. Obviously, the way Ric's luck goes he ends up getting sicker, losing his powers and in lock down like most of the rest of the team. And that's when it had happened.

Ric pauses, sitting up a little as he keeps his gaze settled on the punchbag opposite them. "I walk in to find Rogue kissing Mark or Mark... no Rogue kissing Mark because he freaked out. But it was still. She lost her powers and they kissed." Of course Ric goes on to describe that Rogue had absorbed a part of Ric into her as well so her feelings towards Mark were jsut as strong as Ric's. So... yeah. He sighs, scrubbing a hand over his face as he flops back down again. "We argued, lots, loudly and it got nasty. She made some accusations about the way I deal with things and I... I... hit her."

Being an only child, Lorna has never really dealt with anything like sibling rivalry -even if it's fake siblings, but whatever. She is fairly good at keeping up with other people and their family drama though.

Listening to Rictor explain things; Rogue's power, losing his, getting sick, losing powers again, and then catching the kiss. Well. "Are you more upset that she kissed your boyfriend rather than finding someone else to kiss, or are you actually genuinely under the impression that she was seriously trying to steal your boyfriend and not just a little bit lost under all these crazy, scary emotions and things that she didn't get?"

Lorna's had her share of bitch matches. She screamed her best friend out of English class one time, she'd slapped seven boys for trying to get fresh with her, she'd gotten the claws out when Jennifer Holland had tried to spread rumours about Lorna being a slut. Arguments usually got those heated, spur of the moment kind of way. "You think she'll forgive you for the hitting her thing before you forgive her for the kissing your boyfriend thing? Or is this a wash my hands of you kind of deal?"

All things considered, and the fact that Rictor comes across a little girlish anyway, Lorna doesn't really have anything to say about the guy slaps girl thing.

"No! I... well yes but..." Ric really has no idea how to answer the first question, jaw working up and down leaving him looking a little bit like a fish. He sighs softly, scrubbing a hand over his face, as he mulls over what really made him angry. Lorna has a point, a really big, very genuinely honest and obvious point. Rogue's actions, as hurtful as they were, came as a result of her being, as Lorna put it so eloquently, just a little bit lost under all these crazy, scary emotions. Rogue had ended up with Ric in her head and all his feelings, memories, emotions and for someone that has had to live with it everyday even Ric knows it can be a bit overwhelming. "She wasn't trying to steal Martini and I understand that she just reacted to my feelings for him in her head...I don't even know what I was really angry about. It's the trust side of things, I guess. I have... issues."

Sitting up Ric picks at the hem of his tank vest and possibly pouts a little. "I'll forgive her for kissing Martini before she forgives me, that much I can predict. I'd never completely give up on her, just there were things she said. Stuff about me that you never want really saying or being called out on, least of all by someone you love and trust." Ric glances over his shoulder at Lorna and gives her a lopsided smile. "I fucked up, big time, didn't I? Martini was right, I'm going to regret this."

"Don't we all." The 'issues' that they all had could amount up to a nuclear bomb, Lorna would bet. Her own were fairly trivial, probably the exact same as any other adopted child. But she had a good upbringing in a safe stable home. And then she had Emma when her powers started to freak her out. Lorna hadn't really had it bad until she'd been arrested for murders that she wasn't to blame for. And even then, Emma bailed her out.

"Listen, I'm not gonna try and understand what's going on in her head, or yours. I'm not gonna pry and ask what she said, or if she's right or whatever. Because that isn't my business and frankly, I like the non-moping version of you, okay?" Lorna didn't do deep, meaningful emotions, Lorna didn't want to be bogged down with that shit, she just wanted everything sunny and rosy and fine. It was a flaw of hers, but she didn't really care.

"So, trust, that comes and goes, you just gotta build it back up. It's like respect and love. Sometimes it's a little broken, but you can work on it." She slides to sit beside him, right beside him, her hip pressing to his. It's like a 'I'll give you some support for now, but find someone else for later' sort of deal. "With Martini, the important thing is that you're not off making out with someone else just to get back at him," which Lorna has done, "and Rogue, well. You better hope like hell she doesn't want to slap you back for hitting her. Cause you look pretty with all your teeth. It'd be a shame to mess that up."

There's a soft chuckle from Ric at the comment, he's thankful she doesn't try to pry into his life and his issues. He knows that there are others in camp who would dig and dig until Ric couldn't take anymore and really lost it. Where as Lorna? Well she's just taking the facts and straightening them out a little more for him. He nods, acknowledging her statement, he too dislikes this moping version of himself because Ric is all too well aware of where it can lead.

Jostled just a little from where Lorna settles beside him, Ric's recognizes the gesture for what it is, physical comfort and a nudge in the right direction. He's got to hope too that Rogue doesn't decide to take a swing at him because that girl packs a punch and a half. Reaching out to take Lorna's hand, Ric brings it to his lips and presses a lingering kiss to the back of it. "So what you are saying is that trying to charm my way into other people's beds is not the answer? Damn."

Ric's only teasing though and he nudges Lorna with his shoulder, there's a slight tugging at the corner of his lips till the muscles twitch and give in, breaking into that trademark smile of his. "Y'know, for someone with ridiculously coloured hair you talk a lot of sense."

If Lorna wanted to listen to everyone and their sob story, she would've studied Psychology instead of Geology and gotten herself a nice little office with one of those stupid couches. She didn't, though, because she wasn't interested.

"It is such a bad idea, that if you try it, I will zap you with so much magnetism, you won't be able to get it up until your forty." There's just something about Martini that, while she really likes Rictor too, she'd probably punch Rictor in the face if he hurt Martini like that. Especially if it was over something as stupid as one kiss from a friend.

Still, she leans over, wraps her arms around his shoulders and places a friendly kiss against his cheek. "It's because I'm a natural lime-head, none of those chemicals to kill my brain cells. That and I'm female, we always make sense, you just don't listen right."

"Alright! Alright! I get the hint, no playing the field. Wasn't like I was going to anyway. I may be an idiot at times but I'm not that stupid." As much as Ric is angry he'd never hurt Martini like that, not just because he knows that his boyfriend would kick his ass but because there's no urge to do so.

Leaning into the hug he laughs, ruffling Lorna's hair as she presses a kiss to his cheek. "Yeah, yeah I get it. You're amazing because you've got boobs. No need to preen your own ego."

It's going to take time but at least now Ric can start to at least work on forgiving Rogue and putting aside the anger he's feeling. The kiss happened, it can't be taken back and nor can the slap but like Lorna said, given time trust and what they have can be rebuilt. He turns his head to press his forehead against Lorna's and smirks. "I'd better let you train in peace."

It's good to know that Rictor isn't just a pretty face then, that he's got a little bit of sense, or at least that he's that dopey about Martini that he's not thinking with his revenge brain and his dick.

"You wish you had boobs, you know it." Either way, Lorna's glad she could at least help enough to get him thinking on things, and get that horrid dark cloud away from him. Some people just aren't made for moping.

"Thanks," at the very least she'll do half her work out, since she wasn't planning on sticking around for too long. "You know if you really need to talk, I'll listen, okay? Just don't expect too much touchy feely bullshit, okay?"

It's more to do with him being quite a bit tunnel visioned when it comes to Martini, than to do with Ric ignoring the revenge brain. The boy is in head over heels love with the guy, and not very good at saying that outloud and as much as he's hurt, he has no urge to go making matters worse.

"I don't know, there's a reason GOd didn't give me boobs. I'm already gorgeous enough, add boobs and none of you ladies would be getting laid." He even pretends to cup his imaginary boobs as he stands up.

"I," Rubbing at the back of his neck Ric leans in and presses a chaste kiss to Lorna's forehead. "Thank you beautiful. I swear, Scouts honour, no touchy feely bullshit." And with that he'll head out the gym, already lighting up a cigarette before he's even out the door.
