The Cat Came Back~ (OTA)
The feral couldn't say how long he'd been away for, not really; all he'd known was that one minute he'd been chasing Emma's skirts again, as he always had, and the next, he'd realised that Logan had just gone. A century's worth of protective instincts had kicked in, and without even thinking about it, Victor had fled the compound before he could be stopped, disappearing to follow his brother, wherever the hell that was.
As it turned out, he never did find out. Logan had covered his tracks well, so well that even Victor had had difficulty in tracing him; despite weeks of fruitless searching, his brother's trail had gone cold, leaving the feral feeling abandoned, bereft and more alone than ever. And so, against his better judgement, he'd decided to tuck his tail firmly between his legs and return to the only constant he'd ever known; a steady, military existence where he knew his skills would be appreciated, the structure and routine of an army lifestyle calling out to his inner need for some kind of discipline, even if his conscious mind hadn't yet realised it.
He'd fully expected the cold reception he'd received some distance away from the compound. After all, the feral was well aware that he was on several Most Wanted lists around the world; there was no way they'd allow a known killer to just waltz back into the place as if nothing had happened. It had grated upon Victor's nerves to have to submit to the heavily-armed soldiers as they approached him, placing his clawed hands behind his head as he was escorted back inside the gates, but he'd understood that it was necessary if he didn't want to be dumped in the middle of the courtyard in several bloody pieces.
Victor looked every inch the subdued predator as he was marched towards Sykes' office, glaring at any who dared to approach him along the way.
((OOC: I'm presuming he'll be taken straight to Sykes on his return; we don't have to play it out, it can be handwaved if necessary. I'm saying he's being escorted by several heavily-armed soldiers, so bear this in mind if you want to approach him.))
