Trip off Base (for Haylie)
Having secured both of them the allowance to go to Midway, Spencer had tried to find the place online just so that he could find out where the hell he was about to go and what the hell they could do. Apparently, it was not big. Not that it mattered.
It had a diner and that would do for dinner, so that was set and Spencer had convinced one of the soldiers to drop them off not too far from Midway since he was heading along that direction. It gave them more of their six hours off base to use better, and Spencer was nothing if not pragmatic.
Considering there was nothing like a big fancy restaurant like back in L.A, casual was the way to go -especially considering where they were. He sent the message to Haylie to meet him by the main gate and all he had to do was wait.
